I find it necessary to post this review, and hope that no one else experiences this type of Refusal of Service from them. Their act is wearing thin. I will probably move my PO Box to another location, and non-renew with Laurens Street this month.
Routinely under-staffed at the front counter, no matter how long the line gets. Too many sullen employees. This has been going on for years. It's either a poorly managed post office, or that the USPS is denying them adequate staff, as they try to shunt people away from post offices to their badly-run online service (or both). In either case it's poor service for the customer.
The Holiday Season is behind us. It is now a full week into 2016. It is my understanding that the Laurens Street location is the main sorting station for the City of Aiken. I believe it to be under staffed, or overly staffed with aging personnel. It seems as though, every task is a burden for them..........from Package Delivery to VISA/ Passport Services.........to Money Orders and Buying Stamps. To me, these Seniors have lost their desire to provide Service, and may be over burdened with trying to do the jobs of 2-3 people, in an effort to further secure (1) their seniority, (2) their employment and (3) their pay checks. They may be cutting staffing hours at the location, and certain tasks are falling out of priority.
My mail carrier puts boxes in the rain when we have a porch, delivers mail to the wrong addresses, doesn't close mail boxes, the latest was a package with tracking not being in my mail box when it says it was. This should be fun

I must restate that 2% have been problematic, and the person behind these problems is a older gentleman (possible supervisor with initials Jo Fo) who usually steps out of the back during High Traffic times. He asks "if anyone is here to pick up packages" This is good.......sometimes, and people begin to form a line at the side desk to the far right. Mr. Jo Fo is rude, and gets-too-much-pleasure out of making people understand him and the "proper procedures" that seem to change whenever he wants them too. His act is wearing thin.
My inquiry began at 10:15 am with this Service Rep, and I was told that I can wait for the person in the back to place a key or slip in my Box. She points to the end of the Service Station to were packages are sometimes delivered. I waited, for a while and since no other customer entered, she then asked the Sorter in the Back about packages that "Don't fit into PO Boxes, and are placed in Lockers. She moved a few boxes and returned to her station.
One irrate customer
I have not canceled my PO Box and have received 200+ packages through this location. Nearly 98% have been without hassle. Thank you.
This Post Office has consistently been late delivering packages to PO Boxes for months. They have also delivered one of my packages to another PO Box, and had to retrieve it from that Box Owner. Today, I visited this location in search of mail and a package that was marked, according to tracking information, as "Available at PO Box / 8:28 am" today.. Only one Service Representative was at the counter, and I was the only customer in line. When I asked about picking up this package, she initially refused to assist and spoke to me with a raised voice in utter defiance of retrieving this package for me. She would not leave her station. She says, "Package delivery is a process and you have to give them time." (There was only one person back there too.) I looked at her, as if to say........Them? I only see one person.........& Why are you talking so LOUD.......I am the ONLY CUSTOMER IN HERE.
i had exspress shipping for live birds it was garented at a certin time and did not even come untill a day late it was 12 birds 3 died very upset and would not give me my money back for the garented
Eventually, another customer entered, and then someone (I believe her to be the Lead Service Representative or Post Master) approached me and asked "How can I help you?" I let her know that I was in search of my package and handed her the tracking number and PO Box number. She again explains that package delivery was a process, and should be completed by 10:30 each day......"we obviously are running behind today." She again states that "I should give them time....... and wait." I let her know that, "Waiting" is what I was doing when she approached me and asked "How can she help me." I looked at my cellular phone clock and it was 10:21 am. I let her know the time (10:21). She then says "OK, continue to wait" and walks away. I waited until 10:30, and checked my box for a key or slip. Neither was there, and I left. I left because, more customers were arriving, and I did not want them to cause another scene, with raised voices and refusal of service.
Had an issue with the mail carrier coming through my yard when the mailbox was at the road, with enough room for the mail carrier to pull up and turn around. Well one day my husband caught the mail carrier coming through the yard at a high rate of speed. So he told him there were animals and small children playing and that it was also private property and to please stop coming through the yard. The mail carrier shouted profanities and sped off. Next thing I know I get a letter in my box saying they were stopping my mail and to come to the post office on the matter. I complied. I took pictures to the post office for proof and the post master told me that it would be handled or so I thought. This happened around the last part of September and it is the end of October. I have yet to get mail since. So can someone tell me what's the deal.
